Clare Murray - Managing Partner

Clare Murray is founder of CM Murray LLP and specialises in employment and partnership law. She is experienced in providing tactical and pragmatic advice to a wide range of multi-national companies, UK businesses and US and UK law firms.

She has particular expertise in handling:

  • sensitive City HR issues, including boardroom disputes, executive appointments and departures, bonus and discrimination issues
  • international employment arrangements and disputes
  • internal HR investigations
  • partner discrimination claims, partner departures, team moves, and partner restrictive covenants

Clare established and is past chair of XBHR, a global think tank for cross-border HR experts. Its members include in-house HR counsel, HR Directors, private practice employment lawyers, and tax, benefit and immigration advisers based around the world, all with interest and expertise in cross-border HR issues: www.xbhr.com

Clare was a founder member and honorary secretary of the Association of Partnership Practitioners, the leading UK association for lawyers, accountants and related professionals advising on partnership law and practice: www.app.org.uk.

She is also a Member of the American Bar Association, Labor & Employment Section, the European Employment Lawyers Association, a Member of the International Bar Association, Legal Practice and Public and Professional Interest Divisions and is Chair of the International Committee of the UK Employment Lawyers Association.

She regularly speaks and writes on employment and partnership issues in both the United Kingdom and the USA.

Prior to setting up CM Murray LLP Clare trained and qualified at a leading national law firm and was subsequently a partner in a City law firm particularly recognised for its employment and partnership law expertise.
