		<description>Although very much a layman, I believe that this is clearly a pertinent example of double standards.  I understand that figures in the public eye have a duty to be on their best behaviour at all times – needless to say, it’s very much the nature of the beast.

However, the conversation was a private conversation, and a conversation that occurs daily, week in, week out, in workplaces around the world.  I’m not claiming that I agree with sexism; neither am I claiming that I have never engaged in ‘banter’ with male colleagues.

But if an employer is compelled, legally, to fire an employee for sexist comments, then surely most of the UK population would find itself out of work?  Perhaps the actual legal employment issue here is that some industries apply certain standards, whilst others do not.

But then I’m just a male – what would I know…</description>
