Samantha is a Partner specialising in partnership and employment law.
Samantha predominantly advises senior executives and partners from the legal and financial services sectors across a broad range of matters, including on general points of partnership law and on specific issues affecting sensitive departures and arrivals.
Samantha’s practice focuses on individual partners – predominantly in contentious dispute situations, including discrimination, whistleblowing, and high-value exits; as well as non-contentious advisory work reviewing and negotiating terms for partners joining firms. In contentious partnership disputes, she has been complimented for her thoroughness and “eye for detail“, with clients appreciative of her responsiveness and clarity. Her experience includes working on some of the highest profile City discrimination and whistleblowing cases.
Samantha frequently appears as a broadcast media commentator on employment and discrimination law issues, most recently on ITN, Channel 4 news and BBC news regarding the Presidents Club scandal, use of Non-Disclosure Agreements, and Equal Pay at the BBC. She also frequently provides expert opinion in the national and trade press.
Samantha is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading employment lawyers and an expert on discrimination outside the workplace context, notably representing the Fawcett Society – national campaign for gender equality – in a ground-breaking judicial review challenge to the UK government’s national budget.
Samantha joined CM Murray LLP in March 2018.
