Tougher at the top? Keys to thriving (not just surviving) in an increasingly uncertain world – 2 November – 9.30am – 12.00pm in Toronto

Today’s world is increasingly complex, challenging, and unpredictable. Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA) are the new catchwords for business leaders globally. What does this mean for the law firm partnership model? How can we build resilience to not only survive but thrive in this new reality?

Hosted by CM Murray LLP and Lexington Consultants, the 2025 Leadership Circle in Toronto takes place during the IBA Annual Conference in November. This exclusive event is aimed at senior law firm leaders and practice group heads.

At the 2025 Leadership Circle, a specially invited group of law firm leaders will share their insights on navigating complexity and ensuring a partnership model that´s fit for the future.

The format is interactive and informal. As in past years, we will be discussing a specially designed case study based on the changing best practice we are seeing around the world. Issues to cover will include:

  • Ownership: Enabling greater flexibility in ownership structures to achieve agility and adaptability. Ensuring ownership remains attractive, supporting profitable growth, and providing a transition and exit for founders and retiring partners.

  • Governance: As leaders, understanding and take into account of a wider range of partner voices. Balancing more inclusive decision-making with the need to maintain momentum and set the direction.

  • Remuneration: Recognising and rewarding the increasingly diverse and complex partner roles and contributions. Balancing merit-based.
