Transatlantic Webinar: Training Safe First Responders in Harassment Complaints Webinar – 18 November 2020, 4:00pm – 5:00pm GMT

In recent years, prominent sexual harassment and other gender discrimination claims have been lodged by numerous persons in a wide variety of industries and business settings. Law firms have unique challenges when it comes to identifying and responding to such claims. Firms’ ownership structure, the long hours worked by partners and associates, and the prevalence of under-reporting concerns, impact law firms’ ability to respond to internal complaints in a safe and timely manner. These challenges can be further exacerbated by the difference in regulatory and legal requirements between the US and the UK.

We are delighted to invite you to the first session in our Transatlantic Webinar Series in conjunction with Decipher Competitive IntelligenceTraining Safe First Responders in Harassment Complaints.

In this transatlantic webinar, the industry’s latest thinking will be presented by CM Murray Partners Sarah Chilton and Beth Hale, both of whom specialise in partnership and employment law, with particular experience of managing discrimination and sexual harassment issues in law firms, and Kathleen Pearson, Chief Human Resources Officer, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. The session will be moderated by Michael Ellenhorn, CEO and Founder of leading global intelligence firm Decipher.

The expert panel will explore the following key issues, from both a UK and US perspective:

• How to identify unacceptable behavior and how best to report it
• Key risks and issues when receiving a report
• Wellbeing issues and how partners can help
• Bystander reporting – why it is important and how to do it
• Risks when dealing with victims and witnesses
